But baseball has only one career hit leader in Carews estimation, and his name is Pete Rose.Suzuki, 42, has 2,996 hits in the major leagues and is likely to become the 30th member of the 3,000 club during the Miami Marlins current homestand. Hes a .328 career hitter who ranks 24th in MLB history with 3,053 hits, and he made it to Cooperstown on his first try in 1991.
