Welcome to Week 11! Four teams are on bye again this week in advance of Thanksgiving week, when all teams will see action. The teams on bye this week are the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and San Diego Chargers. On Thursday night the Saints traveled to the Panthers, so players on those teams have already yielded their fantasy production.Injury concerns regarding players heading into the Sunday and Monday games can be critical. Each Saturday, this entry will be dedicated to each player who appears on the official weekly NFL game status injury report and how his status might impact fantasy teams. For those who might be new to this feature: Injury reports provide some insight into a players status. The NFL requires teams to submit practice injury reports several times a week, identifying the body part that is involved in the injury. This year, there has been a change in the language of injury reporting, per the league office. The most notable change is the removal of the probable designation. For more detailed information on the changes and what they mean, click here.Early in the week, the practice injury reports indicate whether a player did not practice, was limited in practice or was a full participant in practice. On Fridays, all teams file a game status injury report assigning one of the following designations: questionable, doubtful or out. The designations listed here reflect the injury reports filed with the league office Friday evening. Teams playing Monday night do not have to issue their designations until Saturday. The explanation for each designation is as follows:Out: This is the easy one: The guy is not playing this week.Questionable (Q): This remains the most dreaded player designation. By definition it means a player is uncertain to play. How uncertain is uncertain? There is no percentage or measurement scale, so this classification remains rather vague. Whether a player ends up active or inactive often comes down to a game-time decision based on how he feels on game-day morning or how he performs during warm-ups. Final inactives are due 90 minutes before kickoff.Doubtful (D): The doubtful designation means a player is unlikely to play that week. Rarely does a player labeled as doubtful end up playing, unless he experiences a major turnaround before game time. Each week in this Saturday feature, we run down a list of key fantasy players, by position, who appear in the Friday injury report, along with the injured body part as listed on the report, player status and any relevant developments or insight. The primary fantasy positions are covered (quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end). This year, at the end of each positional section, there is a subgroup of players: Players off game status injury report. The probable tag no longer exists, so players who would have been listed as probable in previous years are now simply removed from the report. This means there will be players who appear in the practice injury reports during the week but will not appear on the game-status report Friday, since they are presumed active for game day. They are included in this article so that fantasy owners can see where players who were on the practice injury report during the week have been upgraded in advance of the games. At the end, key fantasy players listed Friday as out for the weeks games will appear as a group.QuarterbacksTony Romo, Dallas Cowboys, back, (Q): This week, Romo did a very impressive thing: He publicly endorsed Dak Prescott as the quarterback for the Cowboys. While it was clearly a difficult moment for him, he handled it with class and dignity. Still, his health is very important for the Cowboys should anything happen to their rookie star. To that end, Romo has returned to full practices (starting last week) and is expected to be active and available as the backup quarterback this week against Baltimore. For the first time in recent memory, the Cowboys have two starter-quality quarterbacks, providing welcome insurance at a time when some teams are struggling to find just one.Players Off Game Status Injury Report:Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals, right shoulder: Dalton absorbed a fair amount of punishment in Monday nights game and it left him with soreness in his throwing shoulder. He was limited in Wednesdays practice but returned to full practices Thursday and Friday. His removal from the injury report indicates there is no doubt he will start against the visiting Buffalo Bills Sunday.Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts, right shoulder: Luck wasnt on the injury report last week ... because the Colts had a bye. He returns to the report this week for the same reason as past weeks -- his throwing shoulder, which limited him in Thursdays session. Luck was a full participant Friday and his removal from the game status injury report, as usual, confirms he will start when the Colts host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks, knee: On Sunday night in New England, Wilson looked his healthiest since first injuring his ankle at the start of the season. A far more mobile Wilson took care of business against the Patriots, and while the rushing yards arent yet what fantasy owners are hoping for, it appears they could be coming soon. His natural ease of running is becoming more apparent over the past two weeks. Wilson is still listed on the practice injury report because of his knee, but the visual evidence supports coach Pete Carrolls claim that he is nearly back to full health. And, Wilson doesnt even have to travel this week as he gets to face the Philadelphia Eagles at home.Running BacksTodd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams, thigh, (Q): Gurley played last week against the Jets after being listed as questionable with a thigh injury, although the yield in terms of fantasy production remained low, as it has all season. In other words, the injury was not to blame. Some folks have moved off the Gurley must-start wagon (maybe more than some), but with teams still on bye and injuries throughout the league at the running back position, some may still be considering him for this weekend. For those folks, the Q next to his name is not encouraging, especially when he was off the Rams practice injury report until Friday. Its worth noting that soft tissue injuries can flare up -- even to a small degree -- from time to time. When games are separated by just days, proactive limitation of reps can be useful. There is nothing to suggest Gurleys limited practice Friday has him in danger of actually missing Sundays home game against the Miami Dolphins. It is worth noting that this is a late (4:05 p.m. ET) kickoff, so fantasy owners who plan to use Gurley should have an alternate available, just in case.Theo Riddick, Detroit Lions, ankle, (Q): Riddick missed time earlier this season (Weeks 6 and 7 to be exact) with an ankle injury, but he has returned to play in two games since then and has proved to be effective. Coming off the teams bye week, the expectation might have been that he would be completely off the injury report, but that is not the case. Riddick was limited in practice each day and comes into this weeks game with a questionable tag. Its hard to imagine that he is in any real danger of missing this one, but fantasy owners should always be prepared with a backup when a player has a Q next to his name. Thankfully, the Lions kick off at 1:00 p.m. Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.Latavius Murray, Oakland Raiders, ankle, (Q): Murray missed time earlier in the season with a turf toe injury and now appears on the injury report because of his ankle. Although he was listed as a limited practice participant, it may have been largely proactive to preserve him for Monday night. Still, given his questionable designation, fantasy owners should have an alternate plan if he is a surprise inactive.Players Off Game Status Injury Report: Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers, shoulder: Hydes performance in his return from injury last week was underwhelming, perhaps a sign that his shoulder was indeed still bothering him. Hyde managed just 14 yards on 13 carries, but the positive sign perhaps is that he was on the field for the bulk of the teams offensive snaps, more than double the number for teammate DuJuan Harris. Although Hyde remained on the practice injury report this week, he was a full participant each day. His removal from the game status injury report confirms he will play against the visiting New England Patriots in a late (4:25 p.m. ET) game Sunday.Matt Asiata, Minnesota Vikings, shoulder: The three-headed running back squad of the Vikings has seen each of its members on the injury report at some point this season. This week Jerick McKinnon and Ronnie Hillman are not part of that report, but Asiata is. Still, Asiata was a full participant in practice each day, despite being listed with a shoulder injury. His removal from the game status injury report indicates he will play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.DeMarco Murray, Tennessee Titans, toe: Murray continues to get a day off during the week (Wednesday) to give his still somewhat-ailing toe a rest. He was back in full practice Thursday and Friday, however, and shows no sign of slowing down on game days, as his removal from the game status injury report confirms. Fantasy owners should be sure to have Derrick Henry on their rosters as insurance nonetheless.Thomas Rawls, Seattle Seahawks, fibula: There is no doubt that Rawls -- out since Week 2 with a fibula fracture -- is slated to make his return to action this weekend. The question rather is how much work he will see. Reports have been all over the map, leading to an inconclusive conclusion. While coach Pete Carroll claims he doesnt have any problem with Rawls playing quite a few plays, he also notes that C.J. Prosise did a very good job last week. This has the feel of Prosise starting, with Rawls getting his first opportunity to show where he is from an in-game standpoint and the Seahawks proceeding based on what they see. Rawls is sure to increase in value over the coming weeks, perhaps as he is able to demonstrate that he is conditioned enough to handle the workload.Lamar Miller, Houston Texans, ankle: Miller was on the injury report this week as he was limited in practice to rest his ankle. Miller is expected to play Monday night without limitation and should see plenty of action with both Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes out.Wide ReceiversDeSean Jackson, Washington Redskins, shoulder, (Q): Jackson missed Week 10 with a shoulder injury after coming into the weekend with a doubtful tag. His questionable status represents an upgrade, as does Jacksons practice involvement this week. After limited participation Wednesday and Thursday, Jackson increased to full participation Friday. Earlier in the week coach Jay Gruden indicated Jackson would need to be able to play without restriction in order to be available for the game. As of Friday, Jacksons status appeared to be headed toward a game-time decision, despite the uptick in his practice reps. ESPN.coms John Keim reports that the decision on Jacksons Sunday status will not be influenced by the fact the team plays just four days later (Thanksgiving game on the road against the Cowboys). Fantasy owners will want to be sure to have an alternate plan in place or simply choose another option, given that Washington doesnt play until Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers.Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys, back, (Q): Last week it was his knee, this week its a back issue that has Bryant on the injury report. He also was listed with a back ailment two weeks ago but played nonetheless. His appearance here does raise an eyebrow this week because he was added to the report only on Friday as a limited participant. ESPN.coms Todd Archer says there is little doubt Bryant will play Sunday given how well he was moving following the workout. Fantasy owners will want to be sure to check pregame inactives, but at this point it appears Bryant is safe for this week.Robert Woods, Buffalo Bills, foot, (Q): Woods missed Week 7 with a foot injury but returned to play in Weeks 8 and 9. Coming out of the bye week, the team is no doubt being conservative with Woods by limiting him in practice, especially with Sammy Watkins not yet ready to return. After practicing in limited fashion daily, Woods is expected to suit up Sunday, but fantasy owners will want to check pregame inactives. Will Fuller V, Houston Texans, knee, (Q): Fuller again comes into this week questionable and is expected to be a game-time decision according to coach Bill OBrien. Given that the team doesnt play until Monday night, this is not ideal for fantasy owners who may be nervous after Fuller was inactive last week. Its worth noting that Fuller did practice on a limited basis each day and according to the Houston Chronicle, OBrien has expressed optimism that Fuller will play.Jarvis Landry, shoulder and Kenny Stills, calf, Miami Dolphins, (Q): Landry was listed as questionable heading into last weeks game with the same issue and he not only played, he played virtually every offensive snap. After limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, Landry was a full participant Friday and should be good to go against the Rams on Sunday. His teammate Kenny Stills has been battling a calf issue for the past two weeks but also managed to suit up in Week 10. He followed a similar practice pattern as Landry with full participation on Friday. Stills is also expected to play this week. This is a late game, so fantasy owners should always have a backup plan in place, just in case there is a surprise inactive here.Eddie Royal, Chicago Bears, toe, (Q): Royal fought through a toe injury to be active last week, his first game action in four weeks. He suffered no apparent setbacks and participated in limited practice daily this week. With teammate Alshon Jeffery suspended four games for violating the leagues policy on performance-enhancing substances, Royal may well see an increased target share, as will?Cameron Meredith and potentially Zach Miller.Julian Edelman, foot New England Patriots (Q): Edelman has yet to miss a game despite being listed weekly on the injury report. He continues to practice on a limited basis daily to proactively preserve him for game day. This week, he travels home to California to play the 49ers. He wont miss this one.Torrey Smith, San Francisco 49ers, shoulder, (Q): Smith is on the injury report after not practicing Wednesday with a shoulder injury. He returned to limited practice Thursday and repeated the effort Friday. Barring a surprise, Smith is expected to play Sunday against the Patriots.Jordan Matthews, Philadelphia Eagles, back, (Q): Matthews missed Wednesdays practice due to back spasms. At the time, coach Doug Pederson said he expected Matthews to return Thursday. He did. Pederson also said he expected Matthews would be fine to play this weekend. Expect that he will be. That said, back spasms can be tricky and the Eagles had to make a long trip to Seattle. Plus, this is a late game (4:25 p.m. ET). Fantasy owners will want to be sure Matthews is active and be prepared to slide someone else into that roster slot if for some reason he is not.Amari Cooper, Oakland Raiders, back, (Q): Cooper was also listed on the injury report with a back strain heading into Week 9 but he did manage to play. Now the Raiders have had a bye week in between then and this weeks Monday night game, so Cooper should be in better shape. He was a daily participant in practice on a limited basis and the expectation is that he will suit up in Mexico City against the Texans. Ideally, fantasy owners will have an alternate to plug in if for some reason Cooper is unable to play.Players Off Game Status Injury Report: Randall Cobb, hamstring and Ty Montgomery, illness, Green Bay Packers: Cobb remained on the injury report earlier this week and continued to protect his hamstring by practicing on a limited basis, but his removal from the injury report indicates he is expected to play. Cobb missed Week 8 with the injury, was active in Week 9 but did nothing until very late in the game, then in Week 10 his activity increased to roughly 70 percent of the offensive snaps. The hope is that he will be more involved this week as the Packers face Washington on Sunday night. Montgomery is also expected to be active after sitting out one day of practice this week with what ESPN.coms Rob Demovsky reported as a bug, not related to his sickle cell trait.Victor Cruz, New York Giants, ankle: Cruz sat out the Week 10 Monday night game as he had hinted he might earlier in the week. This week he was a limited participant in practice daily and his removal from the injury report confirms the Giants expect him to play.Sammie Coates, Pittsburgh Steelers, finger: Coates has been dealing with not one, but two finger fractures on the same hand. That will definitely make it tough to catch passes. Apparently the Steelers are feeling better about his ability to do just that as he is off the teams injury report this week.Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals, knee/ankle: Last week Fitzgerald racked up 100-plus yards receiving, but he also put the scare in everyone when he landed on the back of his neck. Still, that wasnt even the body part that had him on the injury report this week. Still recovering from the ankle sprain of two weeks ago, Fitzgerald also tweaked his knee, which resulted in an early-week MRI. Clearly there was no serious injury as Fitz was back in full practices both Thursday and Friday. He is off the injury report once again prior to the game, making life much easier for his fantasy owners.Tight EndsMartellus Bennett, New England Patriots, ankle, (Q): Bennett has been listed as questionable for multiple weeks since injuring his ankle. He is expected to play against the 49ers Sunday, and with fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski already ruled out, Bennett could be a target beneficiary.Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles, hamstring, (Q): Ertz showed up on Wednesdays injury report as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury which then kept him out entirely on Thursday. The good news is that he returned to a full practice Friday and appears to be on track to play Sunday, barring a setback. The Eagles play in a late game in Seattle, so fantasy owners will want to be sure to have a backup plan in place.Jared Cook, Green Bay Packers, ankle, (Q): Cook has been out since Week 3 with a high ankle sprain but has continued to make strides in practice. This week he did the most work to date, practicing fully each day. The questionable tag indicates the Packers arent quite ready to guarantee his status for game day, but ESPN.coms Rob Demovsky believes Cook is likely to play. The Packers dont play until Sunday night and its hard to know just how much action Cook would see in his first game back in two months. Fantasy owners may want to look elsewhere. This space is intended for a list of key players, not including those who have been moved to injured reserve status, who are officially listed as Out for the upcoming game.Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots, chest: The ruling out of Gronkowski early comes as little surprise given the significance of the chest injury he suffered on Sunday night. He was not present for any of the teams practice sessions this week and a long flight appeared unlikely from the beginning. The hope is that he will be able to rejoin the team in practice at some point next week.Chris Hogan, WR, New England Patriots, back: Hogan had a back injury heading into last weeks contest. He was active but limited to roughly 50 percent of offensive snaps and was held without a catch. This week Hogan remained limited in practice throughout the week and the teams long trip to San Francisco may have factored into the decision to keep him at home.Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, foot: Rodgers remains out of practice with a foot injury. Fortunately for the Bucs, Doug Martin appears to have gotten past his hamstring injury.Jeremy Maclin, WR, Kansas City Chiefs, groin: The injury Maclin tried to play through in Week 9 still has not allowed him to return to practice. The Chiefs ruling him out in advance of this weeks game came as no surprise. Stay tuned to see if Maclin makes his way back to practice next week.DeAngelo Williams, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers, knee: Williams underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week and has not yet returned to practice. It would stand to reason that he will miss time beyond this week.Be sure to check out Fantasy Football Now, Sundays on ESPN2 at 11:00 a.m. ET for last-minute inactives, rankings, injury impact and more!
