NARRAGANSETT, R.I. -- Firefighters have battled a blaze at a multi-million dollar Rhode Island oceanfront estate owned by the family of the co-owner of a minor league baseball team.Crews were dispatched to the five-bedroom, five-bathroom Narragansett house after a fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. Monday.The home is owned by the family of late Pawtucket Red Sox co-owner James Skeffington.No one was inside at the time. A caretaker on the grounds first noticed the blaze.Fire officials say strong winds from Hermine coupled with water problems made it difficult for firefighters to control the flames.The two-story home and surrounding two-acre property is valued at $3.1 million.Skeffington briefly owned the PawSox before his sudden death in May 2015.
