Now, after Mondays 27 point, 11 rebound breakout, Ill just tell you. There simply hasnt been a more disappointing player in fantasy this season, and its not due to a lack of ability. Its the timeshare with Jusuf Nurkic, and a residual lack of self-confidence thats resulted from it.Head Coach (and Fantasy Killjoy) Mike Malone has been excruciatingly steadfast in his defense of Jokics reduced role, but Jokics improving play since returning from a wrist injury is forcing Malone to reconsider expanding his offensive responsibilities. This may be your last chance to buy low.Another name to consider is?Andrew Wiggins, as?I have faith that Tom Thibodeau will mandate consistent improvement in steal and block production as the season progresses.Joe Kaiser:?Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns is the name that comes to mind. He hasnt taken the next step like many expected, but its easy to forget that he just turned 20 at the start of the season. Last season as a rookie, he flourished once the injuries started to mount in the backcourt, and I could envision that same thing happening again this season if either?Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight miss time.Bookers game is built around scoring and, when his confidence is high, it impacts the rest of his game. Hes a player who is outside the top 50 in fantasy right now, but hes averaging 33 minutes a game and has a 25.1 usage rate. When his shot starts to fall, he has a chance to become a big-time scorer in the Suns fast-paced offense. Expect his shooting percentages (41.1 FG, 31.4 3PT) to rise and his scoring average (18.4 PPG) to follow suit in the weeks and months ahead.Kyle Soppe: Im going to break the rules a bit here and name a player I am targeting in trades that is NOT struggling. The purpose of this question is to find a player whose stock will increase in value moving forward and I think Sam Dekker fits that bill. Hes playing well, which is exactly why someone may be willing to deal him at this point, thinking that they are selling high. Buy.Dekker is an analytics dream on the offensive end with nearly 95 percent of his shots coming either within eight feet of the basket or beyond 24 feet. He has proven to be a capable rebounder at times, averaging 10.8 boards per 48 minutes in December, with as many seven-plus rebound efforts in the past two weeks as he had all of last season.Im buying him as a viable option in the third-most efficient offense in basketball, with the potential for his value to spike in a big way if and when Ryan Anderson (97 missed games in the past three seasons) or Trevor Ariza (31 years old, and averaging more than 33 minutes for the fourth straight season) miss time. And its good for everyone when it happens.Q: I saw you said recently in a New Yorker article, My era, you always think thats the greatest era, but Im not so sure anymore. Why do you believe that now? A: Because everybody that plays, no matter if it was 60s, 70s, 80s, they think their eras the best. Well, prove it to me. Like I said earlier, I think we have more stars than they do now. On every team, they had at least one, maybe two. Im talking about Dominique Wilkins -- you just go down the line. But in saying that, I dont think our eras any better than anyone elses, whenn it comes right down to it.ddddddddddddQ: Do you think there are better all-around players before the current era? A: I dont know. Theres some guys I really like to watch play. Draymond Green is fun to watch. All of those [Michigan] State guys are because they defend, and they play, they play together -- thats how I like the game to be played. Move the ball, cut, pass; if you do the right things, youll get it right back. I dont know, I hate to compare eras. Its been so long since I played, but I liked to play the total game. Magic liked to play the total game. Some guys are just scorers. Some guys just defend and rebound. But the guys that are playing now are just as good as what we were when we played.Q: Youve been around the game your whole life. What would you do to put the game in a better place than where its at now? A: I dont know. Its hard, and we work on it continuously, is how the games called. The one thing Ive always been disappointed in is guys driving, jumping into the defensive player and getting calls. Its a league of points. They love to have points on the board. But I think good defenders get beat down sometimes because they dont get to play. Some guys in this league are in here because they play defense. I just wish they would clean up some of the areas in the officiating. Its really not the officials. Its really how the rules are written. But its getting to where guys are just driving, getting bail-out calls by jumping into defensive players, and thats not how the game, in my mind, is supposed to be played.
