Colin Montgomerie believes Rory McIlroy is the favourite for Masters victory after the world No 3 rallied to finish his second round strongly at Augusta.McIlroy, who could complete the Grand Slam with victory this week, recovered from a slow start to fire three birdies along his closing stretch to move within one of overnight leader Jordan Spieth.That late run closed a one-under 71 to lift McIlroy up in to outright second, setting up a third-round shoot-out against the defending champion, and Montgomerie expects the momentum to be with the Northern Irishman.
