The Wheat Kings had a 2-0 lead with a second period goal from Chad Robinson, and one early in the third from Tim McGauley. Jake DeBrusk scored for Swift Current, to cut the margin to one. Rihards Bukarts later restored Brandons two-goal lead, and the Broncos tied the game with goals in the final three minutes from Nathan Burns and Coda Gordon. Lazar got his first of the game at 19:17 of the first period, then tied it at 1:48 of the second period, and got the winner for Edmonton (32-13-1) at 5:14 of the third.
